Siemens to build 600 MW offshore wind farm in the Netherlands

units of its 4 MW wind turbine each with a 130 meter rotor, and a 15 year

service contract. These two orders for the Gemini project have a combined

volume of more than 1.5 billion Euro.

• The order for the Gemini project is Siemens’ first order for an offshore wind

farm in The Netherlands. Once constructed, the Gemini offshore wind farm will

be among the largest offshore wind farms in the world. A combination of

generous wind resources on this far offshore project site and the latest wind

turbine evolution from Siemens G4 platform means that the Gemini project,

once fully commissioned, will yield more electricity per year than any other

offshore wind farm in the world.

• Installation of the 150 wind turbines is scheduled to commence early in 2016.

The wind turbines will be loaded onto the installation vessels in the Danish

harbor Esbjerg and shipped directly to the Dutch offshore project site for

installation and commissioning.
