The European new issues markets1 have been in operation for several years now, and have contributed significantly to the evolution of growth-oriented entrepreneurial activity in Europe. The objective of this report is to achieve a better understanding of market trends and to evaluate the structure, process and performance of these markets. The recent volatility in the capital markets makes it a very interesting time to undertake this review. It represents the first real test of whether these markets are robust and operating on solid ground.
