Collaborative Knowledge Curation (CKC) Webinar
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is sponsoring a live virtual webinar to provide information about the Collaborative Knowledge Curation (CKC) Advanced Research Concepts (ARC) Opportunity (DARPA-EA‐23-01-03). The webinar will include information specific to the CKC ARC Opportunity as well as an overview of DSO and the ARC initiative. Registrants will hear from experts in knowledge curation and economic statecraft and have the opportunity to ask questions. The virtual webinar will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Registration is required for all attendees of the webinar.
Synthetic Hemo-technologIEs to Locate and Disinfect (SHIELD)
The Synthetic Hemo-technologIEs to Locate and Disinfect (SHIELD) program will develop safe and effective prophylactic countermeasures to defeat bloodborne pathogens and prevent bloodstream infections (BSI) associated with combat wounds. The program will develop prophylactic countermeasures effective against both bacteria and fungi, pathogens that are responsible for the vast majority of BSI. State-of-the-art countermeasures to manage BSI include antifungals and antibiotics which can be toxic, ineffective, and be administered in an untimely manner. SHIELD will develop safe and effective broad-spectrum prophylaxes that will protect recipients from bloodborne bacteria and fungi and prevent BSI for up to 144 h.
Intelligent Generation of Tools for Security (INGOTS)
The INtelligent Generation Of Tools for Security (INGOTS) program seeks to semi-autonomously reverse engineer and reconstruct recently patched software vulnerabilities in a software supply chain in order to develop tools and techniques to generate exploit chains for cyber hardened enterprise software. INGOTS will also use data from this process to develop a new metrology for assessing the exploitability of chained vulnerabilities, enabling defenders to quantify the risk posed by vulnerabilities in blue networks and to prioritize rapidly fixing the most exploitable issues before an attacker can leverage them.

Biomanufacturing: Survival, Utility, and Reliability beyond Earth (BSURE)
B-SURE will investigate fundamental research questions critical to the development and future realization of biomanufacturing capabilities in space. To accomplish this goal, B-SURE will collect data on the microbial utilization of space-based alternative feedstocks, optimization of microbial growth in variable gravities, and mitigation strategies for identified effects of Galactic Cosmic Radiation on microbial growth and bioproduction.
Spin-COntrolled chemical Process Engineering (SCOPE)
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is issuing a Disruption Opportunity (DO), inviting submissions of innovative basic or applied research concepts in the technical domain of electron spin as a control variable for (1) direct synthesis of fine chemicals and (2) separation of chiral product. This DO is issued under the Program Announcement for Disruptioneering, DARPA-PA-22-01. All awards will be made in the form of an Other Transaction (OT) for prototype project. The total award value for the combined Phase 1 base (Feasibility Study) and Phase 2 option (Proof of Concept) is limited to $1,000,000. This total award value includes Government funding and performer cost share, if required or if proposed.
